Retire in Style with Lolita

Yesterday we went to a blueberry farm to pick blueberries. The nice thing about blueberries is that they are low enough for my granchildren to reach and pick ! We picked two 5 lb flats of blueberries. And from my little garden, I picked some blueberries this morning. Blueberries are considered a "superfruit". Very rich in anti-oxidants.

It has been awhile since my last visit to Chinatown. Yesterday I finally made it to one of my favourite destinations in Vancouver, B.C. Our day started with Dim Sum lunch followed by a leisurely stroll at Dr. Sun Yat Sen garden. Then we browsed several stores and bought a few treats.... a summer top from Ochi's, mangoes from Chinese Supermarket and a summer hat from another store. Browsing through youtube videos I came across this beautiful song by Carroll Roberson. "I've had a wonderful life, The Lord's been so good to me. I've had a wonderful life, If tomorrow I never see. If I have no more blessings in store, I'll never ask or wonder why. If I die today, I can honestly say - "I've had a wonderful life".

We were blessed with beautiful sunny cool weather during our tour of this magnificent gardens. The flowers, trees, shrubs, pond, lake, fountains were all so fabulous. Roses were in full bloom. Just gorgeous. The annuals were colourful. Each garden is just as splendid as the other. There were some other areas that I did not have time to explore. I missed the Carousel, the Totem Poles, and the Mediterranean garden. I would love to come back and experience the gardens in Autumn, at Christmas and in the Spring. I came to Canada in January, 1971. I became a citizen of Canada in 1976. Canada is the birthplace of my children and grandchildren. We are happy and at peace in this beautiful country we call home. God Bless Canada.
